So, as a kid did you lay on your back and look up at the stars and Dream Bigger? That’s where a lot of us begin to dream and we usually start small! And through school did your dreams become bigger? I do not remember really having any great dreams for the future. There were just small stepping stones to little goals of a school kid. I had no goal other than to enjoy life and have fun.
Well now, high school was made up of smaller dreams! Made the drill team in high school, a schoolgirl’s time of fun. Then I graduated and painted cartoons with my mother and grandmother and was the first 3rd generation in the business. I became a medical transcriptionist (missed being top in my class by one point) as I missed 6 weeks of class due to illness! Then I did some modeling, it was fun, but it wasn’t a dream, it was just a stepping stone and not something I aspired to be. But these truly were the smaller dreams (goals), some were just happenings in the path of my life.
The Day I Did Have A Dream Bigger Moment
One day, I did have a dream bigger moment, to become a professional cheerleader and I enjoyed trying out 3 different years. It was a blast and I met really great people. But again, this was only a short-term dream for me. This was a moment of personal growth and putting myself out there even though it might be uncomfortable! Just the trial of judgment for composure, attitude and the wherewithal not to pass from stage fright! Most of all, I am glad my dream made me step outside of my comfort zone. I learned about my own strength and grew in confidence.
Yes, life is amazing and our traditions and how we handle our trials change us and how we go forward. Through the tough times, joyous times and illness too. Yet we all have so much to give and much to enjoy ahead while we gather, learn and teach our families, friends and others. Grasp every moment and go for your dreams.
RIGHT NOW IS THE TIME TO GO BIGGER
Grab a sheet of paper and make a list of quick easy dreams you can accomplish and do it today! And as you lay out your plans think outside the box. Simply, Your first step is just to list your immediate needs – what do you need to cover your bills, or tank of gas, or car payments. That is a goal not just a dream. Then, really start to “dream bigger” with your wants and plans for your dreams for the next couple of years. Look toward the future and what you need, what you want, and your grand desires and wishes.
Oh yes, this is the new mindset to achieve bigger dreams. Now retired, I have had smaller goals just trying to meet the needs of daily life. There is a box I have placed myself into and stopped dreaming bigger. This is my awakening right now! My life is only beginning and I will rewrite my list and dream bigger every chance I get. Just how many times will the list be reworked? I know the dream can get BIGGER! Step by step, one foot in front of the other and I will fulfill my dreams.
There are so many needs, but more than that I am free to gad about and fulfill my dreams and aspirations now. This is where I can (and we all can) reach out to others and help those who need it. Time and belief in the your dream will open life’s wonders and where it will lead is BIGGER now.
